hey - I saw this on the subway to work a few days ago. While they are leaving white men out in the cold, at least they are looking to hire black, latino and asian men for the NYC public school system

It's not as if most schools could do with a complete and utter hiring stop for female teahers, to even out the female to male teacher ratio....

No. When it comes to domains where females are prevelant, of course we can do the soft approach, and just ask them to increase the numbr of male teachers. Of course, we do not need male teachers NOW quotas. That would just be sillyness. Of course, we acknowledge there is a lack of male teachers, but to acuse the female teachers o any sort of antisoial behavior , oif having a "club of the long skirts/ good old gals club", or such, that would be pure conspiracy.

OK, jokes aside. I heartily congratulate the porogram for two reasons:

One, for no longer including "white females" into the "Must diversify" program, and to reconise that if there is any group that is ultra hype priviledged, and mostly there, it is white female teachers.
Shit, it would have been nice to extend the program to all male teachers, but shit, black asian lationo and else male teachers are better then no new male teachers. I am man enough to be happy for the advancements for some of us, even if it#s not all of us.

any men who apply and are hired are essentially ask for serious problems. being falsley accused of sex crimes is ALWAYS in the top 3 reasons men don't teach anymore. also, see the link below for a sad example. i posted this because my first cousin, my brother in laws parents, both of them, and his best friend...all are teachers. the stories they have about this topic, really would blow your minds. we all talked about this subject one afternoon a few years ago. i was gobsmacked at what I heard. What we read in the news, what makes it to the internet....likely barley scratches the surface of the real world. After listening to these teachers I know, i'd rather be on welfare than be a teacher....... i'd be safer. Good luck Mr. Mayor, you're going to need it.
