Not MR related that I can see, but funny.

If I had any empathy for the plight of lowly clickbait journalists like David Johnson, I'd say that most of us have gaps in our reading, but can get by without being exposed so humiliatingly. This is a nothing article that's supposed to churn to the top of a feed for people to read and forget over their coffee break. They don't pay journalists (it's hardly even journalism really, is it?) enough to take very much time on these kinds of articles, and there's no longer a safety net of subeditors and fact checkers. So it's not surprising that authors are sometimes missexed, or sportswriters sometimes write articles praising soccer players who don't, to be pedantic about it, exist..

Is he implying that George Eliot was not a woman?
