I'm only surprised it has taken this long to become mainstream. Actually, for all anyone knows, it could already be mainstream... we would have no way to tell given the current way sex assaults are "investigated". This is essentially what happened to Brian Banks years ago.

If you want to get back at someone, you could frame them for murder, but that requires things like "evidence". It's a lot easier and cleaner to frame them for rape... no evidence required... and the penalty is often more severe for rape than it is for murder.

I think James Deen told something like friends of him he had sex with where offered a good amount of money by jounralist if they would say to them he did rape them.

So I am not surprised this happend, some people need money and it is a very good way to ruin a mens life.
