What's always interesting to me is how many people who are in these minority groups don't know that they're supposed to feel "oppressed" and they just go right along accomplishing anything they set their mind too. On the other hand, it's pretty amazing how toxic the belief that "I am oppressed" can be on someone's life.

Where I used to work my summers in college (Museum/Art Guard), we had guards of all races. Many were African American, and many were straight up African (Black Ethiopian). The African American guards were CONSTANTLY slinging accusations of racism and making a stink with the EEOC anytime they felt slighted. They never lasted long and they would never find "better" jobs.

The Ethiopians, on the other hand, had less than a high school education but they were self taught. Not a single one of them ever made accusations of racism. They came to work, they did their job and they learned how to improve themselves. Most of those Ethiopians ended up either leaving their guard job for a far better position and some of them ended up in senior management in the museum.
