thank you for this, honestly, I can't wait for this to presented to the public when the govt comes up with the "solutions"...it's gonna be great, seriously. it's a shitstorm of epic proportions brewing. the key is the small few words that appeared on the last page or so of proposed solutions "economic incentives or penalties"...man I can't wait to hear what the penalties will be.....it's gonna be gold, pure gold.

Thanks for sharing this. I completed the survey and told them how there is no such thing as a wage gap. I know it will not matter, this is just bullshit politics, but it felt good to vent to a survey from the stupid government....

I make a distinction between a wage gap and an earnings gap.

The wage gap is fiction.

The earnings gap is real, because risk, because hardship, because hours worked, because choices etc.

I just read through that enquiry page in some excruciating detail. I agree that there is no wage gap, but the premise of the enquiry does not ignore the difference between a wage vs. earnings gap, even though they still call it a wage gap.

They are seeking submissions about reducing the earnings gap.

I think we need to open a new discussion in the MRA space, about the consequences of the various ways that the all-too-real earnings gap might be addressed by our governments.

If the ways of addressing the earnings gap involve ignoring risk, hardship, hours worked, career choices etc., then we're all fucked.
