I thought the whole point of alimony was that if say the woman was a housewife she would get a bit of money to be able to manage on her own, particularly if she can't work. This lady gets paid millions to play pretend, she will be ok. If she is accustom to a super glamorous lifestyle, that both isn't her exs problem(nor the govts), and it is still fully available to her.

The more marriages I hear about the less I want to go down that road. What a scam.

Horrible headline. Alimony is regular payments for someone to get on their feet. This is not that. This is a division of marital assets. The law says that generally wealth created during the marriage should be shared by both people. This goes both ways and men are also entitled to an equitable split of assets. The law is only "sexist" in that men tend to be worth more than women.
