Weird how they failed to mention the tweets where she called someone 'white trash' or her speech where she said it was impossible to be racist to white people. Perhaps they didnt fit the narrative they are trying to write of "lol she was just being ironic guys!"

Kind of interesting that they focus on her Kill All White Men tweet, which yes, is probably an ironic "joke" rather than an actual statement of intent to commit genocide, which i think is funny (thought unsurprising) that Slate ignores are the long list of statements she's made against white / straight people over and over again.

From the article: "This is the time we live in: Thousands of people have signed a petition to unseat a woman they’ve never heard of from a position they don’t understand at a school they’ve never visited over a tweet they’ve never seen."

The author apparently overlooked the irony that she herself is writing about people she never met who signed a petition for reasons she doesn't know and did so from positions she herself doesn't understand, and so on, all over a tweet the author further admits she couldn't find in the first place.

Ironic misandry and all that notwithstanding.

My grandmother was one of the first, if not the first single women in South Africa to fight and win custody of her children. She is a true feminist if you so desperately need to label the human desire to be with ones loved ones and care for ones responsibilities.

When I showed her this news story, she felt disgusted at how far feminism and the fight for equal rights in the "first world" has fallen. They insist on not being taken seriously, on being infantilized, on taking no responsibility.

Strange times indeed.
