obviously the double standard pisses me off. there's a couple of more nuance things i think needs to be addressed besides that. I think age of consent should be 16. but it really should be illegal for teachers/those in a position of power to have sexual relations with those they are in the car of.

This one doesn't really seem to fit the bill. My ex boyfriend was caught with a 14 year old boy and got a lesser sentencing than this, and this was in Georgia! It doesn't seem to be a gender specific thing. I don't even think he had to register as a sex offender. Basically, what's saying that this was because she was a woman and not because the judge was sane enough to see that this wasn't too terrible. Plus, it's probably the parents that got angry and pressed charges.
