They said the initial focus was on women as in the vast majority of cases reported to the police, women are the victims.

So lets run campaigns that tell men they a) can't be victims and b) shouldn't expect to be taken seriously if they are.

Vera, if you don't speak to them they can't answer.

Even a New Year poll in the Newcastle Chronicle found that 60 per cent of per cent of people questioned believed that the poster campaign is ‘sexist’. But Ms Baird said that the ongoing ‘live’ poll is now showing the same proportion “in favour” of the police promotion.

If general DV stats show a roughly 50-50 split, yet the Northumbria police reporting stats show, according to Baird, upwards of 85% women...

...then surely the campaign should be aimed at male victims if anything?

As the authority that governs police authority it's absurd for her to try to damsel like this.

Being held responsible doesn't make you a victim. Being held accountable doesn't make you a victim. It makes you the person in charge.
