As much as I wanna support this, the more I think about this, the more I oppose it. First and foremost, I wouldn't want my future daughter sent to her death any more so than my son and 2 wrongs don't make a right. Second, really - in the grand scheme of things - drafted women are bound to be more likely posted into non combat roles - this will mean any draft will almost inevitably mean that if you're a man who gets drafted you'll be going into combat regardless! For me, I'd like to see the draft scrapped altogether. Fortunately, I the U.K. We have no such requirement to register for selective service.

This is likely to end the selective service registration and conscription.

Women were exempted from selective service registration based on them being excluded from combat duty. Without that exemption there is no legal justification for exempting them from selective service registration. Since very few people are willing to accept women being subject to the draft, I expect that selective service registration is likely to be dropped for everyone.
