They are manipulating statistics:

Comparing violence committed by women and by men, the British Crime Survey states that the result of men’s violence towards women is five times as likely to require medical attention, and women are three times as more likely to murdered by a male spouse than vice versa.

HOWEVER:

That same survey found that women instigated more domestic violence against men, it was just that men retaliated as they should and women came out worse. So women start the domestic violence cycle that they fail to mention.

As for deaths. Women who kill their husbands are rarely charged with murder but with manslaughter. They claim it was self defence and so manslaughter. As for men they are nearly always charged with murder. When you combine the two and have one category then the rates of killing of a spouse are nearly equal with just slightly more men killing their partners.

The way they seek to "stop" domestic violence is simply going to make matters worse in the long run. When you combine the "you go girl" mentality we currently have in western society with the attitude that violence against women is inexcusable but violence against men is no big deal, then you wind up with more and more women who think it's ok to lash out at their boyfriend/spouse.

Thanks for reminding me to ignore facts and science and only believe the crap they publish in Salon and Huff Post.
