Feminism, Appropriation of Young Minds.

I read this article and its disturbing in some sense that these girls, while noble in their attempts at self-empowerment and knowledge, they will still fail to completely understand feminism-namely that its a social movement, with political motivations, and is a form of power- just the same as an 'ism'- So instead of learning empowerment in classes I see high school students being told what to think, just the same as how they explicate masculinities/patriarchy-semantic discourses.

It is good to discuss how 'masculinity has affected their lives,'; but in this context they are going to compare and judge their peers not to critical thinking skills, but collectivist propaganda- I shortened the last bit to tell you how I really think. I think gender relations are pretty good in this country, but there are a large segment of the population being hindered by the constant ideological hegemonic struggle..

We seem to live in dangerous politically correct times, where speaking out of place or in opposition to entrenched cultural ideas can be an ”unpopular” move; (I originally commented on facebook-bad idea) moreover, there is a severe, and almost automatic attempt to shame or dismiss unpopular opinions even before the ideas become ripened in one’s mind- The opposite is critical thinking. Perhaps we can expand the dialogue attributed to some feminist thought into a more encompassing gender relations category, so as not to reiterate a one sided gender narrative conducive only to feminist ideology.

I know my opinion is not popular, but sparking a little debate about the efficacy of feminism is a good thing- and I am happy to acknowledge some of the reasons ‘why I am not a feminist’, in order to add substance to the milieu of the gender equality narrative. Moreover, if you have continued reading so far, and haven’t callously commented on the section below with errant rebuttals regarding the use of my word play and not the substance, then perhaps I will explain why feminism, in this case, is the antithesis to equal gender relations and in this context should be criticized as an educational tool. Of course here is where most people begin to conflate their lived experiences with whatever “facts” that they have learned to justify their own ideology and entrenched vested interest in this course of thought- of course I am not innocent in this department, but no one is.

In a historical context, feminism has had a role to play in intellectual challenges to contemporary thought regarding the equality of gender relations- But it does not get to appropriate, as it seems to have done, the moral equanimity of gender relations all to itself- and if it does it becomes the very vehicle it has tried to stop. Moreover, feminism moves on the premise of a male oppression archetype, or ‘inequality’ threshold based on economic questions, etc. Regardless of whatever facts exists or don’t exist, this is perhaps my biggest criticism of feminism, in that it neglects and assumes half the equation; from which I argue feminists need to understand, that the lived experience of men, or masculinities does not correspond to most feminist portraits of Canadian society or economy- .

That is why I would call for an end to the one sided dominance of feminism in its privileged role of constructing concepts of gender equality. PS. I think it is very important to empower all people regardless of race, sex, etc.

"Feminism isn't hateful". Then, in a few years, these girls will be in college, screaming at men who don't want to take a "teach men not to rape" class.

Feminism is the cause of unhappiness among modern women. They will realize this sooner or later. I truly believe that this cunty version of feminism will stop once most women realize how miserable feminists really are. Just hang in there and don't get accused of rape guys! Always have an alibi, if you are going to have sex VIDEO TAPE IT LIKE A FUCKING CREEP! Don't let her know. VIDEO TAPE EVERYTHING that happens in your house.
