Mary P. Koss thinks that it is "inappropriate" to consider men who have been raped by women as rape victims, because "their penetration experience is not similar to what women are reporting". She calls it "unwanted contact".

This is how Mary P. Koss, one of the most prominent feminist researchers in the field of sexual violence in the United States, feels about male rape victims.

If you ever see a feminist talk about how "the patriarchy teaches men not to cry or talk about their feelings", show them this.

It's a searing indictment of our society that when men speak about false allegations they are dismissed as misogynists and we need "she for he" allies to penetrate the mainstream media's disregard for men talking about issues that concern men.

It's much harder to call a woman a misogynist.

While there is truth to that, they accuse them of internalized misogyny instead.

Feminists will always find a way to accuse someone who disagrees with them of an injustice, whether they are male or female.

She sounds freaking awesome! I hearing about people with strength of conviction standing up against almost insurmountable odds.

Great work.

This is a litmus test. If you find it ironic that men actually respect the author for her mind and character, then you are a feminist who has never been respected for her mind or character.

Here's the actual essay.

I realize that this isn't scientific, but I ran the essay through the "Gender Guesser":

The guess is that the anonymous author of the essay is male.

It's a cold day in hell when thinking for yourself in university makes the news. I remember when that was an Onion article.

I've said it before on this sub that rational women are our biggest allies in this fight. The rhetoric I sometimes see here about "all women" does nothing for us and it just needs to stop.

I think this article is a decent example that there are women out there who support us. Maybe not on a college campus, granted, but I wouldn't look there for allies anyways.

[–]Keiichi81 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yep, it's really worrying. On any given day, it seems like 1/3rd of the front page of this sub is essentially "all women are manipulative bitches and can't be trusted" posts.

I always try to think what the person who's only just heard about Men's Rights might think if they came here. Maybe they've heard that MRAs are all just a bunch of woman-hating neckbeards who are pissed that they can't get fucked, but they have just enough reservation of opinion that they've come here to see for themselves (keep in mind that /r/mensrights is one of the top links in a Google search for "Men's Rights"). Is seeing crap like that not just going to confirm everything they've been told?

The rhetoric really needs to be kept in check. You don't defeat radicalism with radicalism.

Well said.

Just because feminists make generalising statements about men, doesn't mean that we need to say the same things about women.

[–]blueoak9 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women like her are the ultimate weapon against rape hysteria and radfemmery in general. And she's tough enough to stand up to a pack of harpies trying to glare her down.

I watched the rape tape and everything looked consensual except one part. The thirty seconds he slipped his dick in her anus and she started to forcefully resist and she gets hit in the face a couple times was rough. The fine line is rough sex isn't rape.

With women admitting to rape fantasies to 50 shades of grey we all know there can be many consensual acts that don't seem consensual to a outside observer. Watch some kink porn post interviews and see how happy they are after the rough sex. Everybody is into different things and that's okay.

I think the point of this course and her rape tape was to force the male to be a mind reader and know what the female is ok to engage in. Lack of communication and buyers remorse isn't rape.

But you can't take everything she put in her art film porno as accurate to what actually happened. She certainly has incentives to release art projects propaganda that portrays her as a rape victim.

If I was having consensual sex with a woman and she began brutally sodomizing me (while I'm fighting against her), I wouldn't Facebook her the next day asking to come to her party and then agree to bring some freshman guys with me. I understand that there is no such thing as a "perfect" victim, but the evidence indicates he didn't rape her at all.

I would also press charges against that woman (after going to the hospital immediately to gather evidence), I wouldn't drop the police investigation because it was too "traumatizing" only to then carry a mattress around symbolizing my rape, nor would I produce a porn video about the incident as an "art project."

But that's just me.

I think the video raises some interesting questions but none of the answers are rape or sexual assault. I'm just taking the video at face value for the purpose of discussing its content.

When he takes the condom off and goes back inside her bareback that's rape in Sweden. I've had more than one woman take the condom off me mid coitus cause they wanted to get pregnant or wanted it to feel better for her. Was I raped?

A gentleman usually asks if butt play is on the menu before going nut deep in her ass. But his large dick slips in quite easily so I don't think it's her first rodeo.

Her arms being pinned down is another rape like quality in the video. But I know some women that like that kinda treatment. Aren't men told to be more dominant? Being pinned down and squeezed get a lot of women off. For all we know this is what his ex was like and he was just doing the same moves with the new girl.

The problem with Emma is, Her feelings not his actions determine if a rape occurred. Society has sent the message that women being the gate keepers of sex they are the only ones to say what rape is or is not.
