Ghebert is correct. I am generalizing. The problem is our overly sensitive, low IQ population, who can't come to that conclusion without being explicitly told. Generalizations are typically based the same as stereotypes. Stereotypes won't stick unless the vast majority fall into its description. That isn't to say the identified group can't change their behavior and make the stereotypes no longer valid. That's usually the case with untrue stereotypes. They were at one time true but people don't like being made fun of, so they stop. It's part of the human evolutionary process.
