Phillips is pointing out how people in care professions (nurses, home health aids, etc) are paid less than others, but she assumes this is because most people doing the work are women. Are lumberjacks and construction workers paid very well? Are sanitation workers? She doesn't care about those professions, because they're dominated by men, and I'm sure she thinks they could be paid more if they just asked, whereas women have been asking, but have been ignored, because they're women.

It has nothing to do with gender—jobs that don't require much training get smaller salaries than those that require a lot. That's just supply and demand, pretty much. It takes next to no training or experience to become a home health aide, and being in a profession that works closely with them, I can say there is without a doubt a major problem with women becoming HH aides that really just neglect, abuse, and steal from their charges. Likewise, there are nurses and teachers that behave very badly. Phillips casts the women in these professions as victims of wage discrimination, and says their contributions to society aren't appreciated, but the truth of the matter is that their wages are low, because it's not hard to find people to fill those roles—just as it's not hard to replace a construction worker who demands a raise. Phillips mistakes normal, gender-neutral economic effects for sexism, and sports an arrogant, self-righteous attitude about it to boot. Then, when people call her out on this, she decries such characterizations as expressions of misogyny.

There's no way you can win in a logical argument with people like Phillips, because she's completely entrenched in her own skewed perspective of reality. She's the worst kind of sexist—the kind that doesn't realize they're being sexist in their fight against sexism. That's modern feminism for you though....
