It's also worth noting that a Parrel study using the same methodology in Atlanta-Fulton County had to be severely limited when it was discovered that even after Hundreds of Millions of in Federal Funding - there was not One single emergency accommodation bed which would allow a child to be taken from the street to a place of safety should the child request help.

More specific to this topic, and particular to the Atlanta-Fulton County context, is the lack of a safe haven for victims of CSEC. Indeed, the lack of housing for homeless youth in general, and CSE youth in particular, is a problem. When conducting this research, it is necessary for researchers to provide referral information upon request by victimized youths, although when no safe places are available, it becomes difficult to conduct such research given both ethical obligations and IRB requirements. The lack of a safe place further inhibits research as fewer networks exist through which researchers can access the greater population.

Also of great interest is the TIP report 2011 (the first where the USA addressed itself) which identified that Children were being arrested and prosecuted despite this being illegal. The report also highlighted that these children who should be referred to agencies specialising in abused children were not notified.The figues come from the FBI:#

“The TVPA mandates that victims not be inappropriately incarcerated, fined, or otherwise penalized for unlawful acts committed as a direct result of being trafficked. The prostitution of children has traditionally been handled as a vice crime or a juvenile justice issue and the anti-trafficking approach of the TVPA has been slow to fully permeate the state child protection and juvenile justice systems. Also of great interest are the figures hidden within TIP 2011 which identify "Parity" 1:1.37 in the number of male and female children found to have been trafficked in the USA for sexual activity. The ratio of Child sex trafficked victims being 16% percent boys and 22% girls which is almost parity and quite startling. So trafficked children have a 38% likelihood of sexual exploitation and forced prostitution and the gender ratio is almost equal at 1 to 1.375.

This destroys the myth that only Daughters are at risk.
