Wouldn't that mean that any women who took sperm from a used condom or didn't take birth control or poked a hole in a condom could be charged with rape? I would have had sex with her if I had known that she would <fill in the blank>.

In aligning oppressive government with repressed womanhood, the oppressive force of masculinity is nicely tucked away out of scrutiny.

I... I've read this sentence a few times... and... what is this even supposed to mean? Does this make any sense to anybody? Is the author trying to say that feminists don't try to influence the government? It seems to me that feminists make appeals to the government all the time and, in fact, the Swedish chicks who accused Assange went to the authorities as their very first resort.

By the way, regarding Jonathan Chait's Atlantic article, it wasn't a "meltdown", it was a pointed criticism. And, interestingly, the people who responded the most vigorously to his article were the most prominent online feminists. Their responses were essentially "well, okay, some of that behavior goes on sometimes, but my friends and I certainly don't do that!" when they, themselves, were among the most egregious practitioners of the tendencies that he was describing.

What this article cannot deflect is the fact that feminists are front-and-center in practically every effort in academia and the media to slap rules onto controlling what people can say and write, what entertainment ought to depict, all the way down to micromanaging how people ought to have sex.
