Caitlin Dewey is starting to set herself apart from the other (mostly female) columnists covering gender issues.

She was one of the first in the mainstream media to call bullshit on the UN Cyberviolence report last month.

Also she seems to be aware of the different subcultures in the Manosphere and not lump everyone into "MRAs" like many out there do.

Doesn't this whole problem originate by measuring a man's worth mainly by how many girls he's banged? That's why men who haven't been very successful in this regard get scorned by society and that's why they get depressed.

Oh, the comments.

Why are there so many women either oblivious to, or otherwise antagonistic to, the notion that they are the gatekeepers for sex? So many of the comments devolved to variations on, "I don't get to pick who I sleep with, either!", which is a fundamental misrepresentation of the issue.

Sure, you don't get who you want all the time, but you most definitely get to chop out who you DON'T want, and that power is what's creating that pool of Incels. There's no arguing the fact that women have an easier time finding willing partners than men do, even for no other reason than multiple surveys show men are simply more willing to have it in the first place.

There might be women that go without, because they aren't willing to lower their bar of entry low enough, but there's no real female equivalent to the Incel, where what you have to offer literally isn't high enough to meet the bar of entry for any of the women around you. Sure, some of the advice to these guys is sound, ie. clean up, work on your confidence, etc. but as long as that lower bar for entry is getting set by someone else, that someone else has the power to decide whether that effort to improve oneself is enough to merit getting naked.
