I don't have a staunch opinion on the topic one way or another, but we really must pick our battles. It would be one thing if you were truly interested in the service and were discriminated against, but you were not.

If you plan on making this an issue, put your money where your hairy b-hole is and take one for the team.

Depends on the state, but most likely it is illegal.

A barber shop in MOST states cannot deny a woman service, as a hair stylist cannot deny men service.

A Spa cannot provide women service without providing it to men.

Which state was it in? Usually it's pretty easy to find out which office supplies the certification required to operate a place like this and you can just report them. The fines vary, but most businesses do this because they don't know it's illegal.

But first of all you'd have to try and get your ass waxed. If you go and they deny you, I'm sorry you were discriminated against. If you go and they don't deny you, you just paid for your ass to get waxed to make sure people weren't discriminating against you even though you didn't know if they were.

Who cares? Why use the state to enforce your preference against their will?

Find a different provider that will happily cater to your needs and give them your money instead. Why go out of your way to do business with a company that discriminates against you?

yes it is legal, since there is objective grounds for gender discrimination, because it involves private intimacy issues.

likewise if i wanted a carer for me i am allowed to specifiy no men or no women or no black people, because its a fundamental objective requirement of the service to be in keeping with my "Needs".

hence if i was some elderly racist shit head who would only be cared for by a white man, they can advertise and recruit on those basis

OP yes it is illegal. If you really want a Brazilian wax job your nearest gay community can find you a spa that is not so bigoted against men. Though getting waxed in other parts of the world don't have this hang up like America.
