I don't know. Sure, there's correlation, but a much more obvious issue is the fact that he was reportedly on the autism spectrum. This is not to say that autism = dangerous. But social rejection (which is not unusual for those on the spectrum) combined with the tendency of the autistic mind to focus obsessively on particular topics/ideas (let's say, firearms, mass shootings, and the urgent necessity of executing a mass shooting) can lead someone like Harper-Mercer to do what he did.
