A lot of people here are coming to this guy's defense because the law is "criminalizing teen hookups". But this case wasn't about law, it was about facts.

She said he forcefully performed sexual acts, including penetration, without her consent. He said they never had sex, and all was consensual. There was, however, some physical evidence to corroborate her story. Semen in her panties, and bruising on her nipples.

We don't know what really happened, for all we know this guy absolutely raped her. And if he did, we should not be defending him.

Carney, Labrie's lawyer, said the young man's boasts about having sex with the girl amounted to the most damning evidence against him. He said Labrie was convicted because he wasn't mature enough to tell his friends the truth.

Duh, they found his sperm on her panties, (note she was 15 years old), and he's just a damn lying asshole. This is not a man that the MRM wants to support.
