I can regret eating those spicy wings after they gave me heart burn but can i say they raped me? NO! Rape is when you are forced to do something you don't want to do. Regret is wishing you hadn't gone through with something. (before all the backlash i understand that there is a grey middle when manipulation and pressure is applied, thats still not an excuse. remember the old saying if your friends jumped off a bridge would you. picture your friends all doing this cool looking feet, it might entice you into trying it yourself did they rape you into doing it. NO! the reason you need to be of a certain age to consent to sex is because we think you need to be an adult to make decisions on your own, so therefore if someone is of age they should be able to tell that they are being manipulated. (the whole point of the age of consent) so back to our main issue. If you have sex with someone and then feel ashamed of it, it is regret and you seem to have made a little mistake in your own life. When you consider your regret justifies rape you are taking your OWN SMALL NOT LIFE CHANGING MISTAKE and saying Its all this other persons fault and i am not responsible for my own life. This as well changers this small mistake that you didn't to yourself to be transferred to a life altering mistake for the accused (whether or not they are even found guilty.) Dont even get me started on the whole if both partys are drunk how can men consent and women not, or how if a women chooses to drive drunk this is a mistake on her part, but if she chooses to get drunk then have sex it was rape and all the other persons fault.
