A family friend of mine was just charged with a rape that occurred 40 years ago. Im under the impression that it was statutory and I'm wondering if anyone here can help me find more unbiased info.

But if he didn't know she was a minor, and she gave her consent, it's still rape. You're quick to call him guilty, but what if it was a case of an embarrassed 13 year old afraid to admit that she was willing?

Rape is a harsh word. It's something that I wouldn't wish on anyone, but it's also something you shouldn't wrongfully accuse anyone of. I hope, for all of the parties involved they get truth and closure.
