I am a woman currently in a shelter. My cat is at a woman's place who saved my cat's life as my only other option was to abandon her to a high kill rate shelter.

I just wanted a temporary place for her. Because I'm abused, that doesn't mean she should die

With that said, I'm also very vocal for the need of shelters for men.

I don't think it should be one or the other, it's a sophism of false dilemma.

Women AND men stay in abusive relationships because they fear for their beloved pets.

The thing is, feminists oppose any thing that brings relevance to male victims of domestic violence or credence to the notion that men can be victims to. Australia is particularly bad for male DV victims, thanks to a constant crusade by feminists against any sort of shelter or services for male victims.

I've only done some rudimentary research on this claim so far, but if you can prove me wrong, please do. If you know of any men's DV shelters in Victoria, Australia that are government-funded please tell me. I would be absolutely over the moon if I was wrong.
