I had a look at the Democrats' proposed Equality Bill, which includes sexual orientation and gender (and other stuff). It's a multiple-personality bill, but I think men's groups should support it.

First, be aware that this bill is not just about sexual orientation. God forbid the gays actually get something on our own merits. So no. It's also about gender equality. And to a lesser extent, it's also about age and disability.

So, you have to ignore section 2. That's the part where they explain why they're passing the bill. There's a lot of "LGBT people and women" this, and "LGBT people and women" that. But this isn't the important stuff. This is just to make the feminists happy, because they outnumber us.

Look at everything from section 3 onwards. It's actually written in a gender-neutral way (and it had to be, to match the Civil Rights Act they're adding it to). They're calling for DESEGREGATION of the sexes (which in plain terms ought to mean schools, sports, and bathrooms) just like the races.

If passed, men should be able to use this law not only as a legal tool to achieve equal rights with women, but also a social shaming tool to drive equality in areas not covered by the law. It could also be influential in the federal courts, which so far have taken it upon themselves to explicitly favor women, in the name of their own version of gender equality.

Prior to passage (it certainly won't happen in a Republican congress, so there's plenty of time to get this right) men should lobby to get our examples of discrimination also written into Section 2, so courts won't be persuaded to apply this equality law in a way that makes it unavailable to men, particularly those who are straight.
