Reminds me of an interview with a German Jewish intellectual. He said political correctness is not about protecting the weak and disadvantaged. It's about protecting oneself from lingering doubts that perhaps you are indeed a racist or a sexist or a homophobe. It reflects a selfish desire to be on the right side of history.
