"In another post today (and very frequently asked) was the question of "Why are some men submissive?" What makes them different?

These questions, asked innocently, seem to operate on the thought process that there is something abnormal about submissive men rather than it being just a lifestyle preference. If you look at it sexually....per societal norms men are supposed to want young, hot women who love giving blow jobs. So what about the men who prefer older women....what's wrong with them? Or men who don't see beauty as a surface feature? And what about those poor misguided soles who don't like blow jobs? Let's not forget men who don't exclusively choose the company of a woman.

If you take sex out of it and look at "lifestyle choices". Men are supposed to be strong and in charge, eat meat and potatoes, and play sports. So what is mentally or emotionally wrong with the guys who choose to be butlers, nurses, or child care providers? What is missing in men who enjoy vegan diets? How could a man prefer playing the flute to playing football?

Why is submission seen so differently? (Female dominants are met with similar stigmas but not as intensely) Having different preferences for your personal relationships doesn't indicate a mental disorder, psychological breakdown, or physical/emotional weakness. Submissive males are still perfectly normal men who have a particular set of preferences and kink tastes." written by DG
