The amendment is an excellent idea, and advances the cause of men's rights. Prisoners are overwhelmingly male. Approximately 2 million american men are presently incarcerated, the majority of whom cannot vote. Many states restrict felons from voting long after they have served their sentences. This disproportionately disenfranchises men, and, in particular, men of color. The U.S. has the highest incarceration rate in the world, vastly higher than our counterparts in the developed world. While some of our prisoners and convicted felons have committed terrible crimes of violence, and perhaps deserve little sympathy, most have not. Most of those who have had their voting rights stripped away have committed victimless, or property, crimes - many of which would be treated as misdemeanors, or not as crimes at all, in other developed nations. The rights of these people to participate in our system of governance should be restored.

How about no?

The idea of everyone having the right to vote is, frankly, quite terrifying. You need look no further than our current system to begin to comprehend how bad an idea it actually is. If you need further data, look at all the idiots out there that keep news outlets like foxnews in business. Those are voters.

I'm quite the fan of limiting voting rights, but not based on any meaningless metric like gender or skin color. No, in my world you would earn your right to vote based on public service or academic accomplishments.

Not perfect, granted, but it'd be lightyears better than the mess we have now.

Making photo ID a requirement to vote make sense. It cuts down on voter fraud.
