I was actually looking forward to seeing them at the Expo tomorrow. Their voices are an oasis in the desert that is most of my friends being rampant unapologetic radical feminists who can't research anything themselves.

I looked up the abuse and harassment mandate for Calgary Expo and what they did does technically fall under the definition of harassment set down by Calgary Expo. the punishments could have been more severe and they could have been arrested and detained so what happened wasn't as bad as could have been. This is taken directly from the expo website under the FAQ.

The Comic & Entertainment Expo Committee does not tolerate harassment of any type at any of its events. Harassment can take many forms. It may be, but is not limited to, words, signs, offensive jokes, cartoons, pictures, posters, e-mail jokes or statements, pranks, intimidation, physical assaults or contact, or violence.

The Comic & Entertainment Expo Committee will investigate all reported instances of harassment or abuse no matter how small and will strive to ensure that all perpetrators are dealt with in an appropriate manner.

The Comic & Entertainment Expo Committee defines verbal abuse as the use of words and/or statements used to attack, defame, or injure an individual, or to speak falsely of an individual. Verbal abuse constitutes psychological violence under this policy. Verbal abuse, reviling, or bullying can consist of, but is in no way limited to;

a) Unwarranted accusations;

b) Name Calling;

c) Withholding;

d) Criticizing and/or judging;

e) Discounting;

f) Trivializing;

g) Unwarranted ordering;

h) Verbal abuse disguised as a joke;

i) Undermining;

j) Threatening;

While what the feminists on the Women in Comics panel did was also under this. They didn't not get reported by a whole lot of people on social media and in person.

I personally try and keep my political beliefs and the things I enjoy separate because if I let them join together then I would stop enjoying things and hate them because my politics would taint them.
