Before I found this sub I was unaware of these issues. It is such a shame that society (1) does a great job warning women of the evils of men whole not warning men of the evils of women. As a result some men walk into relationships (not saying you) without being emotionally guarded and checking this person out. And (2) we don't help men (either physcially or emotionally) who are going thru these hard times but we are quick to pour millions to help women.

Hey everyone, original OP here. I think prior to my situation taking such a downward turn I would've found it very far fetched that I'd be posting much on /r/mensrights, but this hit me pretty hard.

I'd like to stress that none of this is about one gender vs the other. Adamant feminists tend to focus so much on the injustices that women suffer that they bristle at the mention of injustices men suffer. I've seen that in extreme cases. But it's really easy to allow the reverse to take place, and for those of us who suffer due to gender bias against males to feel slighted specifically by the vocal groups battling for women receiving better treatment.

It's really just a gender equality issue on both sides. I'd really love it if society as a whole would realize that men being abused in relationships is extremely serious and very damaging. Similarly, I think that the pay gap and employment challenges that women face are garbage. There's work to be done on both sides. Today, I'm glad there's a community like this, and I do hope some productive discussion can be had.
