Hb 7.5 that is in my leisure excercise group gave me IOIs so I chatted her up. I saw her again yesterday and went up to her and this is how the conversation ended after some intial chatting.

Me (smirking): Do you have a boyfriend. Her (looks down): What? Me: Do you have a boyfriend. Her(smiling): No. Me: Cool. Let's hang out some time. Her: .... Well I don't have a boyfriend but I started seeing somebody a couple of weeks ago. Me(smiling): Ok. Her (sees that I'm smiling so smiles as well): Sorry, but I'll see you around insert activity that we do. Me (still smiling): Of course. See you around.

It felt great doing it because it closes the case there and I can move to other prospects in the same group. I saw her today and greeted with a smile and acted like we didn't have the conversation yesterday. I've moved on but for the sake of learning, is asking a gril if she has a bf too direct? Should I have just gone for "Let's grab a drink some time?" and kept it vague?
