"Following an intensive investigation, we have concluded that our behaviour has been hypocritical in the extreme. While purporting to be fighting the disadvantage of Western women who are, by any standards, extremely privileged, we have not only ignored the plight of women elsewhere in the World, we have actually contributed to their exploitation.

We recognise that this is antithetical to the message that we sought to convey, and perpetuates the widely held belief that Western feminism has resorted to token campaigns, and tilting at windmills of non-existent disadvantage, while ignoring legitimate disadvantage elsewhere.

We deeply regret these events, which have taught us a lesson. Men sitting with their legs too far apart on public transport is not disadvantage for Western women. Men urinating standing up is not a disadvantage for Western women. Girls being called bossy is not disadvantage for Western women. Video games featuring damsels in distress are not part of a secret campaign to disadvantage Western women.

Such trivial campaigns are mere bagatelles when women elsewhere in the world do not receive an education, or are exploited as slave labour. We apologise. To all the Western women who feel that the real issue here is damaging media coverage for Western feminism, we say this: Our lives are privileged. We are not disadvantaged. We are among the most privileged beings on the planet. Please do as we are doing, and donate 25% of all of the proceeds from the sale of these T Shirts to support the development of a fairer World, starting in Mauritius, but everywhere where women, children, and yes, men suffer disadvantage. We resolve to fight prejudice and work towards a fairer World, and we urge you to do the same."

This is what Belinda Phipps wanted to say, but was foiled by a massive global conspiracy to oppress women, run by a small group of ~~shape-shifting lizards~~ misogynistic men ....(continued page 94)

they gave an official statement saying that they won't do anything because the clothes were already produced and selling well

I kind of would accept their apology if they would donate 25 % of the proceeds from the sale of the shirts back to the women in mauritius who made them.

After all, if you get cauught red handed exploiting women for profit, and you are a non profit that works againbst womans exploitations, you no longer get to pick whos first on the list of getting helped.
