Maybe people who are younger than me can wrap their heads around it, but it makes me sick. What sort of counter-app can the MRM offer? Any software developers...

Its all about creating a narrative. They are claiming you had sex with someone who did not give consent, you claim the contrary. I don't think we disagree at this point.

What you are suggesting sounds like you think lying by saying "I didn't have sex with that person at all!" is the best defense. I dont think it is. Its a he said/she said type of case where your defense rests on something that isnt true. All they have to do is make it more likely than not that you had sex with her and suddenly your entire defense falls apart. What stops her from willingly getting a polygraph test taken to show she isn't lying about having sex with you? Would you be willing to do the same? What stops her from connecting circumstantial evidence to you (friends that saw you together, roommates that saw you leave, your phone's gps at her house, etc)? Why would you rest your entire case on something that is inherently not true?

In either case, you are in a he said /she said type of case. The legal onus is on you to disprove that you had sex without consent (due to this law). I don't think lying about the fact that you had sex is a good defense. Instead, creating a narrative of consent such that its more believable that you had consensual sex is a better plan. An app like this is attempting to provide evidence for such a narrative.
