Sorry in advance for the Christian viewpoint:

The marriage vows I heard all through my life are such that the woman vows to respect her husband and the man to love his wife. This is the biblical formula for the marital vows. It gives each person what they need. Men need to be respected and women need to be loved. The vow is to go above and beyond what they feel and do it when they don't want to. I'm not saying women shouldn't be respected. The vow to love your wife is an extremely deep subject which includes respect and deference.

This goes deep into the psyche of a man. A man needs to feel respected in general. In their professional life, personal life and family life. The current trend of disrespecting men in general is, I believe, a direct attack against not just against man, but against humanity. It takes half the population and turns them into bumbling idiots who are incapable of any sort of competent action that need to be handled like young children lest they hurt themselves or others. It dehumanizes men and emasculated them (as the author of the article says).

When a wife demeans and belittles her husband like that, she does almost as much damage to her husband, marriage and family as if she were committing adultery. Adultery is a betrayal of trust. This sort of behaviour is a systematic emotional abuse of her husband. It has no place in any relationship or in society. And it will end up killing marriages.

Women, you need to understand that men value respect. If you do not respect your husbands, you may find one day they no longer love you. And another family will have been broken.
