My response to this article when I saw it on Facebook:

It's an interesting perspective, but I believe it's crap. Pedophiles are very much a minority of men, and it's stupid to fear ~49.8% of the population just because a couple of them are bad. It's like that awful poisoned m&m's analogy from #YesAllWomen all over again!

Also, we're now in a situation where women are repeatedly getting away with sexual abuse because of the stereotype that only men can commit sexual abuse, or that boys 'enjoy' statutory rape conducted by a woman.

I think rather than vilifying all men by default, a better solution would be to look after your kids. Treating every man as a pedophile doesn't solve anything, it just makes the world an unhappier place.

And the argument about it being to balance out past wrongs is bullshit. Collective punishment is against the Geneva Convention for good reason.

"The dean of men's issues"? Then someone needs to fire him, this guy hates and distrusts all men, and should not be speaking on their behalf with any authority.

You don't stereotype an entire gender because some cases were either swept under the rug or not prosecuted with sufficient zeal in the past. What you do is investigate each allegation fairly, retaining presumption of innocence.
