I'm always impressed at how unified a front they present.

Every personal submission here is questioned and analysed. Nothing is trusted. They're labeled as "unconfirmed."

Yet with stories like this, no matter how cliched, or poorly written... no matter how many inconsistencies are in a supposed account there is not a single whisper of dissent. Just universal agreement and acceptance that every word of it is completely true.

It's a cult. Double dose on the Kool-Aid.

You probably should have quit after the first paragraph... I think we all know that wasn't going to be received well by that audience. Sure, I have my doubts too, and there are places to discuss that, but in an anti-man echo chamber banning and deletion is really the only logical reaction.

That being said, best to spend your energy on those who don't identify as a feminist or MRA... You made a tactical mistake as it's a waste of time trying to convert or convince those who've already decided. Aim to convince those in the middle and you won't pull your hair out wondering how people can be so think headed.

Who cares?

This is a completely unverifiable story on the internet - like most internet stories.

The picture could be someone else's arm, the assailant could have been a woman, it could have been a cat, she could have murdered him and those are defense wounds, she could have pulled her arm away forwards instead of away - resulting in fingernails cuts in a different direction.

The point is, given a complete absence corroborating evidence, there is no reason to believe this story is 100% true. Nonetheless, people choose to believe it because it is consistent with and resonates with their own worldview and experiences. Pointing out one potential inconsistency will not change anyone's minds.

And don't think this is unique to /r/feminism. This subforum shares tons of stories without any corroborating evidence and we take them at face value all the time.

there is just one thing that bugs me in that article, why the hell would a red piller identify himself as one in the middle of a date? that is kind of the strangest thing for a red piller to do...
