Like other attendees, Stanton was already locked into hotel reservations at the Hilton DoubleTree.

I've never heard of a hotel that "locked in" anything. You call, you cancel your reservation. They're no longer hosting the conference. Pretty simple, really. At very worst you dispute the charge on your credit card.

I'm sure they ask nicely can find a man to help them.

Stanton decided to request a refund on the message board of A Voice for Men, which is hosting the event, and she got a mouthful from organizers.

“You come here attempting to pose a couple of ‘gotcha’ questions with all the finesse of a tenth grader,” a moderator of the site wrote. “Go fuck yourself.”

Hmmn... no link to the actual post... response that seems to have nothing to do with any question about a refund. Methinks... bullshit? Yes, bullshit!

If I really cared about attending and not just stirring up shit I'd be trying to get either the hotel or the conference to provide a shuttle to accommodate.
