It is not "critical to a country's security". Even at the moment the U.S. army has 816,177 active duty and 282,884 reserve. As far as purely volunteer forces go, over a million in manpower is plenty, especially considering the number of now willing U.S. allies and that warfare is increasingly based on innovation and implementation, essentially reducing a draft's effectiveness by decreasing the manpower of producers, therefore decreasing the efficiencies of both innovation and implementation.

Beyond that, forced state labor is essentially a revokation of one's right liberty, thus being both morally and constitutionally shaky, giving a fair argument to remove it in a clearly unnecessary environment.

I was referring to the situation during the vietnam war when men were forced to join Army while women could refuse to go on nursing duty by their will.

Forced state labor is a concept which is highly evident in countries like Switzerland and SK. Men are forced to serve military for a particular period by any means. The government didn't care about force state labor during the wars held previously, I don't see how they'd do now. The loss US suffered in middle east in terms of manpower and resources is depressing.

Things sure have changed now cause of advanced weapon and tech. The major concern is, why don't we have 400k women soldiers on active duty? And why feminists aren't worried about it cause women should be paid equally in sports on the basis of their physical competence. Why only men should shed blood to protect people who don't even care about their lives.

Why were there only men in middle east and not women if they're as capable physically?
