STEM is a solid road to financial independence. Financial independence tends to lead to a better balanced relationship by eliminating economic dependence. My daughters all went STEM, as did my wife.

To answer another comment about liberal arts. They are a good thing to take and can be interesting. However it is very hard to feed yourself or a family with those degrees.

I don't know why but I think both feminists and non-feminists have misunderstood what the wage gap was about. The original issue was that women got less paid than men within the same job. For example male journalists were paid more than female journalists.

But even that isn't as sexist as feminists make it out be. A lot of wage gaps are due to men just being more present at work. Pregnancy / maternal leave is one example where women are absent and therefore get paid less. But because this issue was being pushed so much by the feminist agenda, it's resulted in men being underpaid for doing the same work (see the female Google employees that insisted on an investigation being held to prove women were being paid less, only to find out Google actually underpaid the men).

But yeah, I don't know why everyone thinks the issue is unequal pay in different careers altogether.

The gender wage gap is an issue. Female engineers don't get paid the same as their male colleagues for the same work. That's the issue.

It’s pretty cute that most people act as if the wage gap can be closed by simply switching majors. Not to say people go to college and major in stupid subjects, but when someone gets a masters in biochemistry and can’t find a single job that pays a living wage, so they go back to college to get a bachelors in computer science to still only find jobs that offer the same pay as a fry cook at McDonald’s, the real problem isn’t the decision in the major, it’s the fact that the price of everything in our “great capitalist” society is so expensive and the pay is 20-something percent less than it was 25 years ago, which forces this generation or people entering the job field to work twice as many hours for the same things that the previous generation got working a solid 40 hours a week. Most of the people that say the opposite have either had the same job for thirty years, or they were handed a job through a connection of a friend/parent/relatives.

But seeing as how this is posted on an anti feminist sub, I’m sure the only response to these facts will sound something like what is regurgitated from every incel I’ve ever met in my life.

Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater. The humanities do have value. Classic bourgeois education was always heavy with humanities, because that class wants the utility of understanding society. But there's not many paid roles available anymore. Once a humanities degree got a student into entry level jobs in both private and public sectors, but neo-liberals in government destroyed all those good government jobs, and the private sector have realised they don''t have to care about anything but profit. Today, understanding society is not a good thing and isn't valued by employers, who actually prefer a populous to be only educated enough to make them rich, but never ask why. We're supposed to learn a technical skill, make the boss rich and think what the MSM tells us too.
