i think a lot of people on this sub disagree with the third wave feminists, they're the ones targeting simply non existent issues like 97% of women being harassed, rape culture on US campuses, (for all i know) patriarchy, wage gap in 1st world secular nations. now i'm with all of the feminists on tackling the biggest problem that women are facing today which is their oppression in the middle east, concentration camps in china of for muslim women under communism law.

if feminists truly cared about women, they'd be addressing these prominent issues that i have presented. they don't and instead cry about mansplaining, manspreading, online bullying, etc. only 20~% of women identify themselves as feminists, and in the UK.

if you've seen any milo yiannopoulos talks about feminism and jordon peterson on it, they have really good and informative points on it.

we don't hate that feminism which is fighting for female oppression in the middle east, we stand with those women. we just make fun of man hating mentally ill feminists like this one

I feel like you’re speaking for women on a lot of things you have no actual way of knowing because you’re not them. Man spreading was also started as a joke and morons ran with it. (Leave it to buzzfeed to take things even farther). I promise you no real feminist gives a singular shit about man spreading. I’m not going to go into detail and sit here and argue with you on a sub where I’m gonna get downvoted to shit for speaking my mind. What I will tell you though, is you don’t have a clear idea on what feminist are, you take extreme examples and paint a picture for an entire group just like people on the left take extreme examples from QAnon and paint all righties as insane conspiracy theorist. I can’t change your opinion because you don’t see feminism for what it is so we’re not even on the same page in the first place, but instead you see it for the stigma built around it. And I mean this in the nicest way possible because I used to see things the same exact way, so I understand your perspective, but I don’t agree with it.

Gloomtoon, you seem to be operating under a classic case of the "No True Scotsman" fallacy when you claim that "No True Feminist" cares about x or y. If you're arbitrarily going to define Feminism in a way that only applies to the issues you find relevant, you're being unbelievably disengenuous.

The fact is, you can find genuine, heartfelt, good faith, self-proclaimed feminists on both sides of any major social issue: Abortion, trans activism, the porn industry, prostitution, body modification, traditional gender roles, Islam, Christianity, you name it. The only difference is that usually the Feminists on one side of the aisle are claiming that the Feminists who disagree with them aren't real feminists, exactly like you are. They'll call them TERFs. They'll say they have internalized misogyny. They'll call them sex traitors. But the fact of the matter is, advocating for the women who haven't even been born yet, IS a form of Feminism, even if pro-choice Feminists hate them. And advocating for the safety of women to have female only spaces and female only sports IS Feminism, even if they call those women cunts and TERFs. You cannot arbitrarily define Feminism as only the issues you care about, or ignore the endless examples of toxicity happening under the banner of Feminism all over society day after day.

I'm saying that modern, third wave Feminism is inherently contradictory and hypocritical.

The problem with defining anyone who believes in gender equality, which is basically everyone as a Feminist is that it's a rhetorical trap. Feminism can't be separated from it's history, its proponents, its effects on the legal system and politics, its effects on the media and the culture, the books its proponents have written, the things its proponents have said, the overall way it's treated men, etc etc. You can't act as though Feminism exists in a vacuum distinct from its deep philosophical and ideological roots, and all the forms of it which are often in direct conflict with one another (see Gender Critical Feminism vs. Inclusionary Feminism. See Sex Positive Feminism vs. Sex Critical Feminism. See Christian Feminism vs. Radical Feminism. I could go on forever.)

Furthermore, belief in the equality of the sexes definitionally makes one an Egalatarian, not a Feminist.

My point was that modern Feminists are talking out of both sides of their mouth. You cannot both define a Feminist as anyone who believes in gender equality, and then reject, cancel, and condemn those who have a different interpretation of how to achieve that equality as "Not real Feminists."

most of it is just man hating mentally. just go to the FDS sub it'll prove my point. feminists of this era don't confront the real problem of women and instead going on twitter to boast about men harassing them just by existing. i encourage you to speak up your mind on this and prove me what's wrong about my justification about me knowing nothing about women's problems. people here know what women go through in the middle east and what men go through seeing all these privileged women screaming misandrist comments at them like "kill all men." feminism of this era has just evolved into this ugly movement of degrading it's opposite sex. it's becoming the exact thing it achieved to abolish. you say that i have no way of knowing what because i'm one of them? 20 to 27% of young women identify themselves as feminists in the UK. just go watch milo yiannopoulos on this topic, he debunked mostly every single claim that feminists make that men are bad :/
