So if women go to sperm banks, why can’t men go to surrogates?

I used to advise my boys to fall in love, settle down, and get married. My ex turned into a radically different person during divorce, and even so I still don’t regret the decades we spent together. The love was real.

BUT - I cannot in good conscience advise any young man to get married (especially in today’s culture). But that still leaves the problem of missing out on the joys of fatherhood. So wouldn’t it be a reasonable idea to purposely become a single father? Not ideal I know, but why should the human race suffer because some people can’t fulfill their vows? Or is it just as selfish to have a kid without a mother?
