So, I married a woman who was cute on the outside but ugly on the inside. At the time, I didn’t think much of it because her attitude wasn’t directed at me, just at other people. But after the divorce, I saw a side of her that I always kind of knew was there, and I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from ever getting involved with someone like her. She’s not a good person—quick to anger, easily annoyed, and dealing with her is like dealing with a child who can’t control their emotions.
She ended up cheating on me, which is what led to the divorce. I was living in the U.S. at the time, but since I didn’t have my papers sorted out, I had to move back to South Africa. The problem is, my daughter is still with her. We agreed I could call and talk to my daughter at 2 PM on Tuesdays and Fridays, but every time I call during those times, she doesn’t pick up or even bother sending a text to say something came up. I don’t want to give up on my daughter, but right now, it feels like I’m fighting a losing battle.
At this point, I’m only going to be allowed to see my daughter in 2026 when she’s old enough to travel, and I miss her with everything in me. But honestly, sometimes I feel like backing off because I have to go through my worst enemy just to talk to my child who can’t even talk yet. What do you guys think? How can I not let my baby mother get under my skin? I don’t really care about what she’s doing or who she’s dating, but she has my daughter and knows that if she wants to piss me off or get to me, she can just use my daughter against me.
