So for a year I had a trip planned to take my kids back east to see their elderly and sick grandparents (high chance it’ll be the last time), their aunt and uncle, and NYC at Christmas. I invited my stbxw but she has to buy her own ticket, we are financially separated. She bought a ticket in October. I saw it on her credit card statement. The night before the flight, she threatens to create a massive scene with the kids, tell them everything I ever did that was bad, tell her mom - unless I buy her a ticket on the flight. She said she would not spend $700 to “be your nanny on the trip.” So, I had to buy a ticket with money I don’t have to make sure my kids could see their dying grandparents.
