Hey guys. I've begun my divorce from a narc wife. So when I calculate potential child support if I can't avoid it, it seems to high. I make approx. 50k a year, my wife 80k. In NYS its 17% for one child. I contribute 13% to my 401k and my family healthcare plan is like $550 a month. Because neither make a difference, the calculation comes out to like 680 month! I only bring home 2200. Rent where I live is 1800 a month for 2br. Is this normal? Will it be revised given that she earns more and can actually live? Any experience with this? Or do I have to get custody to avoid this thing? Will the courts cripple me and leave me homeless? Lemme know of anyone has this kind of experience. Thanks gents.
