Hello ya’ll. I say ya’ll because, although I currently live in the Cincinnati metro area, I am from the South. Anyway, I am currently going through a divorce after 16 years of marriage and 21 years total invested in a person I thought I’d spend the rest of my life with. She initiated the split, and although we were experiencing problems, it kinda came out of the blue. We’ve been separated for almost two month now, I have filed for divorce, and things are kind of in a stalemate at the moment. I am experiencing all of the horrible feeling of loss associated with this life change: loss of identity, loss of the planned future, loss of my best friend, loss of my home (for now), loss of self confidence, etc. Literally everything has changed for me, and although it has been almost two months, I’m still feeling some of these things. Some days are better than others, but some days just suck! I’m looking for a better way forward and I do still have goals, but I’d just like to stop thinking about her all the time and stop feeling like crap in general. Does anyone have any advice, please?
