Hello,

I’ve been consulting with attorneys the last few weeks and found one I really like. He works as a divorce attorney as well as a mediator. Should I hire this guy as a mediator, or keep him in my back pocket in case I need my own lawyer down the road?

He seemed very well versed in what types of leverage I can offer during the mediation process to minimize my losses (fake example: you keep the car and ring and in return don’t pursue spousal support.)

My understanding is that the mediator won’t be able to curry favor in either way and needs to be impartial, but based on this guys consultation he can be more valuable to me down the road if things get nasty.

Is it worth trying my luck with another mediator?
