His exwife submitted false motions for contempt accusing him of withholding docs necessary for various financial and legal issues 3 years in a row. Barely got off each time.

With the last time her lawyer giving him a (non real) "deal" to "ask the judge for a <100$ fine and no jailtime". Notice the language "ask the judge", judge still would have had 100% discretion. "Coincidentally" this happened after my lawyer submitted our last bit of evidence for exhibits showing her to be the one doing every single thing i was defending myself on accusations for. I called the bluff, (this was only days before the the hearing), and they ended up dropping the case (apparently they do have the power to just drop it! Lol) the day of.

Tide may be turning as I also now have evidence of her violating court orders and taking money that is mine. I was told I my options, and I'm thinking of returning the favor. Contempt of court and a request for jailtime.

Is your lawyer not explaining this to you?

IANAL and this is not legal advice. This is an opinion of whats happening here.

You are involved in a civil case with your wife. Your wife can file motions to the judge accusing you of things. The judge can then ask you to respond to the claim. The judge can then choose what is truth. It sounds like what happened in the time between their motion and the judge determining truth, your wife's lawyer attempted to get you to sign an agreement that you are, in fact, doing what was alleged in the motion. The language about fines and jailtime is bullshit to get you to get scared and sign. Its coercion, not negotiation. Edit to add: there's nothing Ive heard of that involves a "case" or "evidence discovery" and "exhibits" as some sort of criminal case inside a civil divorce case. They are lying and misrepresenting their motion or its all complete bullshit. Also never heard of "dropping the mini criminal case". Youre being coerced.

If you have this offer, in writing, (even if it was spoken in front of others) and your lawyer has not made a bjg deal out of this to the judge, I would ask why and make sure I got a satisfactory legal reasoning why not. I would want the judge to see and know the tactics being used to drag out the divorce, to keep taking second and thrid bites at the apple to get money and force you to spend money to defend baseless allegations. This goes to why I would be asking for the judge to award me lawyer fees.

Yeah I know. But that doesn't change a contempt of court can still carry jailtime. And the judge is a fucking piece of shit moron. She has one of those super punchable bitchy-liberal faces and obvious condescending attitude (likely due to false allegations of abuse by the woman). Don't care to get more into all that but I'm sure many here will know what I'm saying.

This isn't actually me, but I'm closely connected to the person and helping them as I know both parties involved and am able to remain objective. He was considering taking this "deal", but I said not to as knowing his wife it was a bullshit last bluff.

And yes, he has email proof of it. But I'm not sure there's much to what you're saying about when it comes to criminal charges inside the civil one. Sure there can be, contempt of court, itself. Unfortunately the dude involved has been accused of dragging the case out as well, because it's difficult running multiple businesses (one new, historically funded with martial funds, originating from the man) with your access to funds cut off and frozen meanwhile the bitch seems to be able to use martial funds as however she pleases.

The person literally brought -20,000 to the marriage and did nothing but watch daytime TV until not even 10 years ago and abuse the kids and yet this is all going on. Such a joke. And yes he's gone through multiple pussy lawyers who were seemingly too timid to object to anything in hearings or fight at all. Year 3 btw, so it's nasty
