Trial day.

My esteemed opposite-gendered coparent has been dragging our divorce on for 4 years with fraudulent claims of child endangerment / support arrears / black magic, literally anything to stall the proceedings. She filed a SA in 2014 but wouldn't move to convert it to divorce, so in 2016 my attorney did just that. So my ex is fighting against the divorce on her own terms.

She filed two 11th hour plenary actions, accusing me of, among other things, overdosing my kids with eye drops and being in arrears in child support - when I've been paying through the state for two years and the state keeps me overdrawn by hundreds of dollars. Every portion of her bullshit petition was thrown out except the "arrears" part - so today I get to demonstrate to the court that even if I do owe her any money for anything, she owes me thousands more according to the promises she wrote up nearly 4 years ago.

I'm nervous and I'm overprepared. I'm in the right. If justice prevails, my ex will have to do the one thing she's never done: the anathema to which she's never submitted, that most odious specter for which she's been sandbagging expenses for two years desperately hoping to avoid - she'll have to write a check with my name on it. She can't back out and drop the case if she gets cold feet because I filed a fucking counterclaim when she rejected my very, very generous offer to "make this go away" and leave her $3k ahead of the game.

Wish me luck. No matter how it turns out, at the end of the day I'll be divorced so when I think about it, I really can't lose :)

You know why divorce is so expensive? Because it's worth it.
