My wife and I are about to get divorced amicably after 7yrs and the main asset we have is our house. (She has some property from before the marriage which I have no interest in trying to go after)

The property is worth around £900k today and we bought it for £700k.

She provided the deposit (£350k) and I provided the rest via a mortgage (£350k ; £300k left) which I pay - we then refurbished the house which I also completely paid for (c.£80k)

If we now sell the house, how should we split the £900k? I see 3 potential routes, but only 2 are viable in my eyes….

1- If we split it 50/50, then we would get £450k each, but I would have to pay the mortgage back from my share which would leave me with £150k

2- do we have it so that I get the full mortgage & refurb costs back, she gets her deposit back (£420k to me + £350k to her) and then we split the remaining £130k equally?

3- I’m aware there may be an option to go full doichebag and insist that she is also lumped with part of the mortgage, so that there is £600k to split between us, but this is not what I want to do
