Close down all shared accounts, today. Get a separate bank account if you don't have one already, and make sure you get your pay deposited there, start that process Monday with your employer if you are not already in a separate account. If you only had joint credit accounts, try to open an individual credit line with only your name on it, and today if possible. Get legal advice yesterday.

she did this to get a reaction out of you.

get a lawyer. also build a support system between friends/family to help you get through this and don’t leave the martial home no matter what she says. try to get her to leave or one of you move into another bedroom/the basement if it comes to that.

My take on that would be.....She wants to be "friends" because it makes life easier for her. She instigated the divorce because she has a new significant other. This is not about her wanting to "get your attention". 1. See an attorney. Shut down all joint accounts.
2. Accept the fact that the marriage is over and protect yourself accordingly. 3. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Anything you say or do will be used against you if possible.
You did not start this. She did. The 'why' is not important now. You can be angry about that later when it won't cloud your decision making.

Why is this rocket science; the rules are not changing she's adapting to he changing situations.

She wanted a divorce; until she spoke with an attorney and found out what divorce for her looks like. They start of with an idea what they will get in divorce, and when they talk to their lawyer then when reality sets in; they backtrack.

The reason for her wanting the divorce is still there, but she realized she has to stay with you to try and get more of your share. You might want to start getting prepared to counter act her tactics. See an attorney to see what divorce looks like for you. If she moved back in when she realized divorce would not be as financially beneficial to her; imagine her reaction if you served her.

My guess is she'll move out; suffer the financial loss, or she begins to take the marriage seriously.
